The West End Festival Parade : Sunday 14 June 2009
Iseult Timmermans and Rob Welsh worked with a group of 14 young people from the Red Road to take part in the parade again this year. Workshops held at Tron St. Mary’s church developed this years costumes – crows and daffodils. The group had dancer Jane Simpson lead them along the route, accompanied by Gaita Vadia - Glasgow’s unique outfit playing Galician and Portuguese pipe tunes, including Rob with Jose Afonso, accompanied by drummer Dave Watson and flanked by the notorious foam towers. Once again a fantastic day, the kids were superb and the parade was watched by thousands of people.
